Privacy Policy

Aestharium · Last updated: 14 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Aestharium ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use our Android application. We built Aestharium to be a simple wallpaper browser, and we collect as little information as possible.

The short version: We do not ask you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number. The App shows advertising, and Google AdMob collects device identifiers to serve those ads. If you allow notifications, we send occasional updates about new wallpapers. Your favourites are stored on your device, not on our servers.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

None. Aestharium does not require registration, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal details.

Information collected automatically

When the App connects to our servers to load wallpapers, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information in server logs, including:

These logs are used to operate and secure the service and to diagnose problems. They are retained for a limited period and are not used to identify you personally.

Information stored on your device

Your saved favourites, recently viewed wallpapers, and display preferences (such as dark mode) are stored locally on your device. This information is not transmitted to us, and it is deleted when you uninstall the App or clear its data.

2. Advertising

Aestharium is free and supported by advertising. We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect and process information to deliver and measure those ads. You can read more in Google's How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

AdMob may collect:

We do not receive your Advertising ID or share any information about you with Google beyond what the AdMob software development kit collects directly within the App.

Controlling ad personalisation

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised advertising entirely, in your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads. Opting out does not remove ads from the App, but the ads you see will no longer be personalised.

3. Crash Reporting

We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to understand when and why the App crashes, so we can fix problems. When a crash occurs, Crashlytics may collect a crash report containing your device model, operating system version, App version, and a technical stack trace. Crash reports do not contain your name, email address, or the contents of your device.

See the Firebase Privacy and Security policy for details.

4. Push Notifications

We use OneSignal to send push notifications letting you know when new wallpapers or categories have been added. OneSignal acts as our service provider for this purpose and delivers messages through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging.

To deliver notifications, OneSignal collects and processes:

We use this information only to send and measure notifications about the App. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Turning notifications off

Push notifications are optional. On Android 13 and later, the App asks for your permission before sending any notification, and you may decline. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings under Settings → Apps → Aestharium → Notifications. Declining or disabling notifications does not affect any other function of the App.

See the OneSignal Privacy Policy for further details on their processing.

5. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above to:

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles ourselves, and we do not share information with third parties other than the service providers named in this policy.

6. Legal Bases (EEA and UK Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation:

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, or to data portability.

Because Aestharium does not maintain user accounts, we generally hold no information that identifies you. You can remove all locally stored data at any time by clearing the App's data or uninstalling it. To exercise any right in relation to information held by our advertising or analytics partners, please use the links in sections 2, 3, and 4, or contact us and we will assist where we are able.

If you are in California, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.

If you are in Canada, this policy is intended to align with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

8. Children's Privacy

Aestharium is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. Data Retention

Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and diagnostics, and are then deleted or anonymised. Crash reports are retained according to Firebase's retention schedule. Information held by advertising partners is retained according to their own policies, linked above.

10. International Transfers

The App's servers and our service providers may be located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where information is transferred internationally, our service providers rely on legal transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Security

Traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited information we handle.

12. Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services, including our own website and the Google Play Store. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to read their policies.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted within the App or on this page. Continued use of the App after a change indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
